Norris and Karen Johnson Endowed Scholarship

 

Guidelines:

 

This scholarship is available for any graduating seniors of Fertile-Beltrami High School who are pursuing a degree in the health or medical fields. The $500.00 scholarship will be awarded annually to an individual who has been accepted at an accredited 4-year college, university or 2- year technical institute and intends to study the health or medical fields.    An applicant cannot be awarded the scholarship more than once.

 

If there are no applicants within a given year that plan to pursue the health or medical  fields, the scholarship money will be held over to the next year at which time there may be two scholarships available.

Application:

 

The application guidelines and cover sheet are available in the counselor's office, Government/Economics instructor’s classroom, or the F-B Website.

 

Application Deadline:

 

ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE COUNSELOR'S OFFICE BY 4 P.M. ON APRIL 1ST.

 

Selection:

 

The Johnson family will serve as the selection committee.

 

Criteria:

The applicant must:

  1. Be pursuing a degree in the health or medical field.
  2. Demonstrate high character, leadership, motivation, initiative and respect for others.
  3. Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 during the last two years of his/her education.
  4. Be accepted at an accredited 4-year college, university or 2-year technical institute.

Award:

One $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior or former graduate of Fertile- Beltrami, unless the scholarship was not awarded the previous year.  The recipient of the Norris and Karen Johnson Endowed Scholarship will be announced at the Honors Banquet held each year.   A check in the amount of $500.00 will be available in the F-B School Office to be picked up by the recipient following completion of the first semester of the student's first year with proof of college attendance and passing grades.
