Phyllis and Jim Larson Service to Education

The F-B Education foundation started the Outstanding Service to Education Award in 2007. This award is in recognition of special contributions made by an individual or group in the community for support of school activities and projects or for support to advance the school district's mission to provide quality learning experiences for students. In 2020 the name was changed to the Phyllis and Jim Larson Service to Education Award. The Bob Melin Family wants to honor and show appreciation to Phyllis and Jim for all their years of steadfast volunteerism to education and the community. They are sponsoring a $100 honorarium each year to be given to the future recipients of this award. Over the years Phyllis has made and donated many afghans to graduates, after prom, and people in the community. She helped out at school by reading to students, helping kindergarten students with their memory pillow project, donating school supplies to students, giving books to children at Valentines Day and often providing treats.
